Learning and Outreach

You may have heard that Samuel Johnson wrote the first modern dictionary, but did you know that he started his career as a schoolmaster and his former servant and protégé, Francis Barber, used his inheritance from Johnson to set up a school, the first known Black man and formerly enslaved person in England to do so? We are delighted to carry on this tradition with a range of learning programmes for all levels.
